The Associate Enterprise Project Consultant will play an integral role in the successful execution of strategic projects from inception through maintenance and completion. The Consultant will independently plan and effectively manage aspects of a project or sub-projects of a larger program, including but not limited to, identifying gaps, project planning, tracking, reporting, advising, and managing any necessary internal or external relationships independently, as well as under the guidance and direction of EPMO Leadership.
The Enterprise Consulting team supports the organization in managing transformational and strategic enterprise-wide projects that integrate cross-functional resources and require in-depth evaluation and oversight for appropriate resource and capacity planning that aligns with leadership's vision and the mission, strategy, goals and objectives that move the organization forward.
Responsibilities/Job Description
Drive complex projects through effective management of schedule, scope, quality, issue and risk. Accountable for milestone tracking, resource planning, risk assessment, contingency planning and escalation of critical issues. Collaborate with EPMO leadership and functional teams on financials, project communications and resolution of critical issues.
Accountable to project leadership and procedures to ensure project structures and reporting are in line with the team guidelines, structures, tools and processes. Accountable for issue escalation and issue resolution in partnership with EPMO leadership and deliverable/product maintenance and storage/recording.
Partner with organizational leaders in a consultative nature to identity and provide project resources in a manner that ensures timely delivery on commitments/tasks in support of broader project deliverables. Align and coordinate cross-organizational resources to ensure successful delivery of the project.
Develop the overall project vision, approach, objectives and key deliverables; identify/track key measures of success. Develop a comprehensive project plan incorporating deliverables, resource plans, milestones, accountabilities, communication plan and timelines. Ensure project tracking and status are maintained appropriately. Provide regular status reporting on plan progress, and ensure all company standards are followed.
Create and manage the overall project plan and communicate impacts to appropriate stakeholders. Help facilitate and participate in regular post-implementation reviews and present project metrics to assist with evaluation of project quality. Provide regular status reporting for assigned releases. Log, track and escalate high priority project issues that may impact ability to deliver a quality project according to plan.
Work effectively with business partners, vendors and staff to develop the project agenda and ensure agreement/adoption of project objectives/deliverables by affected constituencies. Provide proactive project communication to project owner. Work to identify cross-organizational interdependencies and ensure appropriate integration to project plan. Effectively manage expectations and resource requirements to ensure ownership and success.
Facilitate, plan and drive productive project meetings with or without the business leader that are effective, time managed and with defined outcomes.
Design and prepare presentation reports that provide leadership and key stakeholders with summarized data trends and progress toward achieving project goals.
Serve as primary resource for data reporting, data analysis, and data interpretation on assigned projects.
Qualifications
Required
Education:
Bachelors degree in work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university
Experience:
1 - 2 years in an internal/external consulting or project management role
Demonstrated experience running a project or program from concept to completion
Strong communication experience working with internal, external and cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and to effectively manage within it
Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and theories and use information technology to drive cross functional strategic projects
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing skill building, coaching and guidance from EPMO leadership
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of data collection, manipulation, interpretation and presentation of information in a persuasive and understandable manner
Experience managing project plans, schedules, test plans, and resources
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools
Possess positive interpersonal skills, and ability to work comfortably with staff, leaders and physicians at all levels of the organization
Ability to work effectively as a team player

2 - 4 years in an internal/external consulting or project management role
Experience working in a highly matrixed organization
Experience working on projects that represent transformational changes touching a majority of departments in a complex health care system
