What you’ll be doing...
The Supply Chain Quality Team is looking for a self-driven technician to perform hands on laboratory testing of various FiOS and 4G/5G wireless equipment to achieve and maintain Verizon’s world class quality goals. You will be involved with test set development so that products can be tested thoroughly and efficiently. You will be a key stakeholder who provides recommendations for test changes required prior to new product launches and for the lifecycle of current products. Your goal is to significantly improve OEM and 3PL product quality.
Testing and full lifecycle support of FiOS products as well as wireless equipment.
Modifying and enhancing existing lab test setups including increased levels of automation and efficiency.
Establishing test measurement techniques to characterize critical test parameters.
Reviewing and contributing to product test documentation.
Establishing lab test setups with limited information.
Providing test support to replicate customer experienced failure, track and troubleshoot issues, and help drive solutions.
Applying best practices and contributing to the ongoing improvement of lab test procedures.
Supporting the Quality team on lab studies and other quality assignments.
Developing reports to provide clear and concise results of all testing performed to be used for communications to internal VZ organizations and suppliers.
Managing and facilitating the movement of Verizon products that require quality control testing to be performed.
Maintaining an organized and safe lab.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience testing and troubleshooting telecommunications equipment.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Ability to use test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, MPEG analyzers, oscilloscope, RF signal meters.
Good understanding of verification test plans, test execution, results collaboration and bug reporting.
4G and 5G wireless experience.
GPON & MoCA Experience.
Experience with Supply Chain Planning Systems.
Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
Project Management abilities including strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize effectively with various teams, projects, and tight deadlines.
Flexibility to work in a lab, field site, or warehouse location.
