General Description:

The University of Tennessee Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) seeks applications for a Management Consults, possibly located in our Knoxville office. MTAS is an agency of the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service and provides professional services to Tennessee cities, state government, and municipal government related associations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Management Consultant position provides professional advice and assistance in the area of municipal management to an assigned set of cities in Tennessee, regardless of size, on a broad range of issues and problems, to various state agencies, Tennessee Municipal League, to individual state legislators, as well as various state associations of municipal officials.

In addition to providing direct client assistance, this position researches, develops and maintains timely information on critical issues, and teaches multiple municipal training courses within the context of a well-defined training curriculum, and assists other consultants in the agency in the performance of individual and team projects. The position also performs other special project work as assigned.
