GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Dean, Workforce Services, this position performs career advising, monitors skill development, and provides job search assistance and retention support to dislocated workers and economically disadvantaged adult participants. This individual conducts outreach, orientation, assessment, educational and occupational planning, job search assistance, placement assistance and case management for participants. The Career Consultant will facilitate workshops and outreach activities and events. The Career Consultant also works to maintain participant engagement, ensure enrollment goals are satisfied, and performance outcomes fulfilled.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages a caseload of customers in employment and/or training programs.
Provides excellent, seamless customer service to clients, training providers, support service providers and other community training programs.
Fully utilizes the case management tools and ensures all records and case notes are kept current.
Strategize to achieve enrollment and performance goals for Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act and GAP tuition assistance programs.
Assist customers to form realistic, reasonable and achievable vocational/educational goals and/or employment goals.
Monitor customer's progress toward completion of the vocational/educational and/or employment plan(s) and provide job placement services upon completion of activities.
Provide services to customers within an integrated office and team at the career one-stop.
Conduct group employee information sessions and workshops for lay-off events and ongoing through outreach activities.
Develop relationships with local employers for client placement activities and for the development of paid On the Job training and internships opportunities.
Complete data entry timely both for grant reporting and case management.
Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in education, business, social work, psychology, or related field required.
Must have valid driver's license and vehicle to travel to off-campus facilities, area schools and businesses.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
Full-time vocational, counseling or placement experience preferred.
