Job Summary: The IT Technical Specialist III performs advanced professional IT activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of IT principles, practices, and procedures. Requires evaluation, originality or ingenuity. May supervise and/or direct the work of project teams or other lower level staff.
Additional Department Summary: The Campus Development CIR will work broadly with Campus Development, assisting in IT project management, coordinating Campus Development support with other OIT teams, including but not limited to desktop support, enterprise development and application support, systems, networking. The CIR position will perform IT activities requiring knowledge and application of IT principles, practices and procedures. Usually requires evaluation, originality or ingenuity. This individual will be involved with the support and administration of system applications, process review and recommendation, development and implementation of technical solutions; installs, customizes, and supports vendor-supplied software systems; analyzes and resolves problems arising with the use of software systems.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree ; OR Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR Associate’s degree and four (4) years of IT experience; OR High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of IT experience. Knowledge of advanced programming, networking, system, multimedia, instructional technology skills or project management methods and applications. May require intermediate or advanced level training or certification.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have experience in development and maintenance of software applications, computer science, computer engineering, relational database management systems, computer programming, web development, system administration, or network administration.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with users of varying degrees of technical ability and understanding. Effective time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with university administrative computing applications, including web-based applications such as Banner/SharePoint. Experienced in Office 365 applications, including but not limited to Power Platform and Teams. Knowledge of HTML/XML/JSON and experience with reporting platforms such as Power BI, Argos, and/or Crystal Reports. Either programming or DBA related experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle. Some experience with Java, .NET, PHP application programming.
