Job Description: What We Are Looking For
The Senior Human Resources Consultant, HR Investigator, plays a vital role in maintaining the University's culture and values through conducting impartial investigations related to employee misconduct and HR policy violations. The individual selected for this position should be able to perform assigned duties with the utmost discretion and confidentiality. The incumbent will collaborate with key University stakeholders to include peer Human Resources Consultants. This position reports to the Director of HR Consulting.
A Bachelor's degree, five years relevant work experience (including three years of relevant HR employee investigations experience), and an active Christian faith are required. A Masters degree and eight years relevant work experience are preferred. One of the following certifications is preferred: PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP. Experience will not be accepted in lieu of the educational requirement. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Work is based in Waco, TX and relocation assistance is provided.
What You Will Do
Serves as the lead HR Consultant responsible for conducting impartial employee investigations related to employee misconduct and HR policy violations
Completes written investigation summary reports and partners with HR Consultants to communicate findings to relevant stakeholders
Maintains accurate and thorough intakes, interview notes, and documentation of all investigation actions, files, and records in the University's Employee Investigations database.
Researches, interprets, and applies investigation procedures, internal policies, and local, state and federal laws
Partners with internal constituents to provide HR services and training to our clients and serve as a strategic resource to client leadership on employee relations matters
Responsible for processing unemployment claims and representing the HR Consultants during unemployment hearings
Collects and analyzes employee data and employee relations trends by conducting exit interviews and reviewing reports from the Employee Investigations database
May coach or mentor HR Consultants on best practices for managing employee relations issues
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
