Job Summary This position is on the Clinical Pathways team within the department of Patient Safety and Quality at Boston Children's Hospital. This role works in a team-based program that supports clinicians in the design and implementation of clinical guidelines for condition-specific standardization of care, spanning projects across a variety of settings ranging from outpatient clinics to inpatient units. These care pathway projects involve a range of data collection methods and toolsets for enabling quality improvement and continuous optimization of clinical decision support - all aiming to improve patient outcomes and reduce practice variation among providers. The care algorithms are kept up-to-date in a digital library easily accessible to our clinicians through a mobile app and the hospital's electronic health record system. The core activities in this program involve collaborating with physician stakeholders to design, implement, measure, and optimize clinical decision support guidelines, as well as further integrating this decision support into our electronic health record platform for promoting better, safer care for our patients and efficient workflows for our clinicians. The ideal candidate will also play a part in managing the overall program, streamlining our operations, and mentoring junior staff in project management skillsets. Candidates should be experienced in using data to drive quality and process improvement within healthcare delivery organizations and be comfortable learning new software tools as they are incorporated into our evolving workflows.
