This position provides both global and specific nutrition services support to the UC Davis ICA student-athletes. This may include assisting with individual nutritional counseling for performance or medical nutritional needs, group education, or guidance on meal planning. The position will assist in the planning and implementation of sport-specific nutrition recommendations, educational presentations, cooking classes, and menus for at-home and on-the-road fueling. This position will work with the sport performance staff to manage fueling operations, team nutritional needs, and social media outreach. The position will serve as a part of an interdisciplinary team to manage high-risk athletes and coordinate higher levels of care as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Minimum License/Certification:
Certification in Nutrition
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Exercise Science/Physiology or Kinesiology
Experience working with vulnerable clinical populations while also being sensitive to the student-athlete health and confidentiality needs.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :
Proven ability to meet multiple demands in a high volume, fast-paced clinical environment and to work independently, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse group of patients, clinical staff, managers and visitors.
Cultural humility and sensitivity with respect to religious beliefs and nutritional restrictions.
Work seamlessly as a member of an interdisciplinary care team with physicians, athletic trainers, mental health professionals, and others.
Excellent organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail including strong written communication skills along with computer literacy, including working knowledge of word processing programs and power point.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Preferred License/Certification:
CSSD certification.
Preferred Education/Experience:
Two – five years experience with sports nutrition in competitive athletic environment.
