What will you be doing:
Senior Consultant, Analytics & Operations, works as part of a cross-functional team to improve clinical efficiencies, promote appropriate and high-value care, and prepare Cedars-Sinai to succeed with value-based contracts and other payer initiatives. This position is primarily responsible for developing analytic approaches, executing analytic plans, interpreting results, and communicating those results and implications to others in order to support the team’s stated objectives.
- Apply data to find opportunities to enhance clinical efficiency, guideline adherence, and outcomes of care, as well as to reduce total costs of care.
- Effectively translate business and/or clinical questions into specific analytic approaches and most appropriate data sets.
- Deploy a variety of analytic methodologies and implement these analyses to characterize prevalence and progression of disease, patterns of clinical care, efficacy of treatments, outcomes of care (clinical, patient-centered, utilization, financial, etc.), performance on quality metrics, efficiency of health systems, etc.
- Effectively communicate the results of analyses to various stakeholders. Communication should be clear and “fit for purpose” in order to addresses the questions and findings most relevant to the specific stakeholder.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure integration of clinical, analytic, and operational insights in order to increase organizational knowledge.
- Use findings from analyses to suggest interventions that may have positive impact on outcomes of interest and plan approaches to measure their impact.
- Advance understanding of the implications of the data on the current and future clinical/business environment.
- Track and measure current performance and outcomes resulting from specific interventions, including clinical, quality, patient-centered, utilization, and financial outcomes.
- Develop and implement real-time tracking and modeling tools to effectively manage value-based contracts (e.g., patient stratification; identification and enrollment of high-risk patients into specific programs; measurement of intervention delivery, program adherence, and outcomes; projections of contract success and/or liability).
- Learn and comply with payer requirements for data reporting. Anticipate changes in data requirements resulting from evolving policy landscape.
- Develop dashboards and other feedback tools for consensus-building and to change and improve practice behavior.
- Share analytic approaches and methodologies with other team members in order to enhance team learning and cross-training and to further expand our analytic toolbox.
- Support and participate in collaborative brainstorming and problem-solving, working closely with other members of the Clinical Transformation Team as well as cross-functional staff from the Office of the CMO, Medical Network, and clinical and operational leadership and front-line staff.
Experience Requirements:
Five (5) plus years of analytic work experience in healthcare setting.
Experience in interfacing with clinicians and other stakeholders to interpret and communicate findings.
Solid Understanding of SAS and SQL programming.
Demonstrates significant skill and experience in healthcare analyses, preferably in applications such as population health, risk assessment, outcomes measurement, program evaluation, managed care and value-based contracting, clinical practice variation.
Thorough understanding of core business processes within healthcare organizations with good and growing understanding of evolving healthcare landscape.
Experience in designing and performing complex analyses using electronic health record, transactional or financial data.
Preferred experience in operational role in a Healthcare setting.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in health care, business, or technical field
Master's degree (MPH, MBA) or clinical degree (preferred)
