The Senior IS Operations Consultant is accountable for providing senior level strategic consulting and planning services with Department- or System-wide influence and impact. This person is recognized as a content and industry experienced in technology, change management, program/project management, technical quality management, process improvement and other Information Services specific technical or administrative areas in order to develop and implement strategic business and/or technical solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Uses in-depth knowledge of business and industry to assess current systems, practices or procedures, identify areas of opportunity and develop strategic recommendations to address those opportunity areas resulting in technical or business solutions that are cost effective and meet business requirements.
Provide outcome help to administration, business/clinical areas, department directors, and managers to help strategic and operational business or technology conclusions.
Develop change management plans, and schedules in line with organizational strategic initiatives.
Effectively facilitate strategic planning and design meetings to help identify business/technical strategies and corresponding system and solution needs required to help those identified strategies.
Re-engineer technical and business processes for greater efficiencies with significant benefit to the Organization.
Run the development and implementation of standard processes and activities related to change, operational improvement, integrated and end-to-end testing.
Ensure projects quality assurance needs which could include: requirements gathering/assessment, environmental strategy, test plan/script development, and defect tracking.
Recommend budget items necessary to help changes.
Act as the highest-level internal consultant, providing recommendations, coaching, and training on technology, change management, program/project management, technical quality management, and process improvement.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Must have excellent project management and change management skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Services, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related field highly preferred.
PMP or equivalent Project Management Certification desired.
Must possess excellent critical thinking and data-backed skills.
Is self-directed, and able to operate in an environment with minimal supervision.
Must possess excellent industry expertise in one or more of the following areas: Change Management, Business Workflow, Process Improvement, Program/Project
Management, Vendor Management and Outsourcing, Business Process Modeling, IT Transformation, Enterprise Architecture, Business and Technology Value Management, Performance Metrics, Profitability Analysis, Technical/Systems, Quality Management and Training.
Must be comfortable interacting with a variety of clients from different departments and at different levels including frequent interaction with System Executive Leadership.
