The Senior Consultant, Acceleration & Care Transformation, under the direction of the Senior Manager, leads strategic and consulting initiatives for the Georgia Region. Serves as both a broad-based business advisor and a Program/Project Manager in partnership with TSPMG & Health Plan executive sponsors and business owners. The Senior Consultant drives efficient and effective operations and improvements, while achieving high-priority business objectives and outcomes. This position typically manages multiple projects and consulting initiatives concurrently with cross-functional resources and stakeholders and may require engagement of multiple Executive-level Sponsors. Position takes accountability for all project work, functions independently with very minimal guidance.
Leads projects that evaluate and enhance performance using process improvement knowledge and management. Identifies best practices and deficiencies and drives improvements which have measurable outcomes. Maintains a working knowledge of KPHC and expected workflows.
Analyzes and assesses workflows and operations. Develops and presents recommendations to Stakeholders and Executive Leaders.
Establishes and maintains collaborative, results-oriented relationships with Executive Leaders, TSPMG and Health Plan stakeholders. Identifies projects, manages implementations, and measures effectiveness.
Demonstrated experience with full lifecycle project management concepts for leading complex projects from inception to closure, providing leadership and role models for same, and growing the depth of project management knowledge among KP and TSPMG leadership.
Manages complex enterprise projects using transformational tools and methods including team and change management, data collection & analysis, documentation, and complete handoff of process management to the Process Owner/Operational Leader following project completion.
Oversees activities of consultants, analysts and external vendor partners on projects and provides feedback, as necessary.
Joins in formal MOB rounding within the assigned Area to discover areas of opportunity and identify best practices for spread.
Leads problem resolution between interdepartmental groups across TSPMG, Health Plan, and interdisciplinary groups to understand the issues and work through possible solutions
Demonstrates strong business acumen and healthcare industry expertise. Leads regional resources in workflow development, training, systems deployment, and sustainability of initiatives to maximize positive outcomes, quality of care, efficiency, revenue capture and compliance. Serves as a business advisor.
Designs and delivers robust models and workflows for strategic initiatives. Develops and manages clinical operations and department dashboards as required. Monitors key performance metrics and develops approaches and recommendations for spread or intervention. Partners with TSPMG reporting resources to obtain needed information and project reports for leadership review.
Provides Performance Improvement (PI) consultation to performance improvement initiatives, project teams and departments using Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools.
Participates in and conducts Human Centered Design (HCD) interviews, synthesis and other work products as directed.
Leads projects that require extensive voice of the customer work, patient engagement, and/or a new way of doing things leveraging Human-Centered Design knowledge and management. Voice of the Customer may include patients, caregivers, and/or employees
Minimum Education
Master of Business Administration in marketing, strategy, health care administration and/or other related areas.
Certification in performance improvement and/or quality principles and methods.
Preferred Education
Six Sigma Black Belt, KP Improvement Advisor
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
7+ years of consulting or similar experience within the healthcare industry
Excellent demonstrated consulting, project management and analytical skills
Demonstrated leadership ability with proven record producing results, satisfying customers, reaching performance goals
Ability to establish positive, professional relationships with senior leadership and management team members
Demonstrated use and interpretation of quantitative reports and analysis
Analytical skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications such as Excel or similar applications in order to analyze large volumes of information
Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as strategic and systems thinking capability
Demonstrates proven track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications
Work experience in large multi-specialty medical group business practices
Proven track record of achieving objectives through motivating and leading teams
Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office applications and collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Mural
PMP certification
Certification in Human-Centered Design or design thinking
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation
Six Sigma Black Belt, KP Improvement Advisor or equivalent certification attained within two years of employment date.
