Job Overview
UC HR is seeking an HR Consultant to support multiple business units within UC's HR Shared Services Team. We are seeking an HR professional who will align the people strategy with its business strategy as an administrative expert, people champion, and change agent.
The HR Consultant will perform a variety of human resources support responsibilities relating to operational effectiveness and efficiency of internal processes. This person will ensure the delivery of excellent customer service, emphasizing communication, teamwork and collaboration and seeks ways to support and develop standardized processes and common procedures.
Essential Functions
Consult with departments regarding policies and procedures as they relate to human resources functions. Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives that support individual or multiple business units.
Manage operational human resources-related issues, including development and communication of policies, training administration, reporting and coordinating in the human resources process.
Responsible for the timekeeping and payroll actions for the HR Shared Services Team; and ensure timely management and support the timekeeping & payroll needs of department stakeholders.
Analyze HR metrics, trends and make recommendations to senior HR leaders for any related actions.
Participate in and lead the orientation and onboarding and offboarding function for new employees of Shared Services.
Assist with Performance Consulting and Employee Relations issues as assigned. Coach managers on employee or labor relations and performance management issues.
Must maintain confidentiality with high level of integrity. Responsible for accurate and timely storage of HR-related documents in accordance with UC?s Records Retention Schedule.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
May plan and lead medium to large projects.

Required Education
Bachelor?s Degree
Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of related Human Resources experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Experience with union or labor management is ideal.
Experience in payroll management.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
