The Motion Solution Consultant is the primary technical liaison between the new and existing customers and the Motion Business. This position will function as the domain expert for linear motion based solutions within an assigned geography or market segment.
The primary responsibilities of the position include:
Working with the mechanical development team form the customers to develop concepts and solutions for the new generation of machines for those customers
Promote the innovative Independent Cart Technology (ICT) family of products to new and existing customers
Coaching and development of the Rockwell Automation sales teams in the assigned region or market segments
Efficiently identify opportunities and initiate successful projects
Direct customer interaction throughout the sales cycle with the responsibility of the technical aspects of completing the sale
Communication of technical requirements to application engineering team
Communication of proposals to sales team and customers
Have the ability to quickly learn and articulate the features and benefits of new products and solutions, and use this information in developing new customer opportunities for our business.
Have a good understanding of industry specific applications, engineering principles and how to apply them. Develop an understanding to the customer's environment and our ability to provide solutions.
Assist appropriate channels for business in contacting customers at appropriate management levels in the pursuit of systems and solutions business and maintaining present customers and customer base.
Input customer/industry technical requirements for new product development processes.
Assist where appropriate in the development of new products.
Review customer specifications and drawings and size and select the correct solution which fits in the budget of the customers.
Prepare budget quotations via current available quotation tools and follow applicable guidelines.
Written and Verbal Fluency in multiple languages including English.
Capable of presenting the solution in front of a larger group including management from the customers.
Displays dedication and concern toward completing work correctly, thoroughly and in an appropriately timely manner.
Is very open with management and peers, and is conscious of keeping others up to date on status of work and developments with opportunities.
Communications with project teams to ensure that they have all of the information required to successfully implement projects.
Interface and provide direct input with other RA product groups such that the corporate marketing goals are united. Actively suggest products, sales and service procedural improvements.
Understands the nature of the specific industry served and the available market.
Keeps a whole company perspective in mind relative to systems and solutions specific opportunities.
Holds the customer's interest as first priority. Has a good working knowledge of RA's business and manufacturing systems.
Establishes a good network of contacts within the industry as well as within the entire RA organization. Uses these contacts to facilitate business opportunities effectively and appropriately.
Coordinate customer requirements with engineering and other appropriate departments to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved.
Provide input for developing marketing/sales aids, advertisements and brochures.
Openly suggest improvements in internal operating systems and external relationships.
Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures.
Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
*Ability to Travel up to 60% of the time throughout the region as necessary to support customer base.
