The Consultant Compensation is responsible for supporting the Clinician Compensation team by compiling, validating, and organizing data related to clinician pay-for-performance (P4P) models, incentive programs, and external salary survey submissions. This role focuses on accurate data aggregation, routine reporting, and maintaining documentation to ensure timely and reliable compensation processes. Assists in preparing data files for incentive calculations and survey participation, performs basic ad hoc analyses, and supports efforts to improve the efficiency and consistency of data compilation workflows. Responds to routine questions from physicians and leadership regarding P4P timelines, workflows, and data sources. The position works independently on assigned tasks and produces accurate, well-organized reports. Provides support for other compensation-related processes and projects as needed to meet departmental and organizational priorities.
Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Compile, validate, and organize data supporting physician and associate practitioner pay-for-performance (P4P), incentive, bonus, and stipend programs to ensure accurate calculations and reporting.
Prepare and maintain routine reports related to clinician productivity, quality, service, and other performance measures used in compensation programs.
Utilize basic SQL queries and reporting tools to extract, manipulate, and validate data needed for compensation reporting and analysis.
Support external salary survey submissions by gathering, reconciling, and formatting required compensation and productivity data.
Assist with routine compensation adjustments and incentive calculations by applying established methodologies and reviewing outputs for accuracy.
Perform basic ad hoc analyses related to clinician compensation and individual performance data as requested.
Respond to routine inquiries from Chiefs, clinicians, and leadership regarding compensation reports, P4P processes, timelines, and data sources.
Identify data discrepancies, escalate issues as appropriate, and support process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and data integrity.
Develop and update documentation and educational materials related to compensation processes and workflows.
Collaborate with internal reporting teams, market consultants, and operational departments to obtain necessary data and meet submission deadlines.
Support additional compensation-related projects and initiatives assigned to meet departmental and organizational needs.
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
At least 2 years of related work experience (i.e., in a reporting and analytical environment, preferably in healthcare).
Consulting, academic, or relevant work experience to strongly demonstrate the following skills and knowledge: data analysis, statistical analysis, communication skills, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, and group facilitation skills.
Experience with SQL data manipulation
Excellent in critical thinking, analytical, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Experience in managing multiple requests.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products such as Excel Access, Microsoft SQL Server Mgt Studio, or similar database
Proficient understanding of CPT and ICD10 procedure and diagnosis coding
Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
Experience working with managers and clinicians
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications
4 years of related work experience (i.e., in a reporting and analytical environment, preferably in healthcare).
Advance knowledge of SQL data manipulation
Knowledge of health care operations, including primary care, specialty, and ancillary services
Business strategy, planning, operations, and health care experience preferred.
Prior experience with clinician compensation, Pay for Performance (P4P), or incentive compensation plans
Clinician practice management experience
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, or related field required
Preferred Education
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, or related field preferred
