Job Summary:
Working under occasional guidance within the Department of Enterprise Analytics, this role is responsible for providing end-to-end analytical support to the Internal Audit department. The consultant serves as a primary analytics point of contact for Internal Audit leadership and audit teams, supporting audit planning, risk assessment, control testing, continuous auditing, and reporting activities.
The role applies structured analytics problem-solving methodologies to define audit-relevant questions, develop analytic approaches, and deliver timely, accurate, and well-documented insights. Responsibilities include data acquisition, transformation, analysis, and visualization to identify risks, anomalies, trends, and opportunities for process improvement. The consultant adheres to enterprise data governance and data stewardship practices to ensure high-quality, auditable analytics that meet professional and regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Partner with Internal Audit leadership and audit teams to define analytic objectives supporting audit planning, risk assessment, control evaluation, and issue validation.
* Translate audit objectives and risks into analytic questions; identify required data, systems, and methods.
* Gather, integrate, and transform data from multiple systems to support audit testing and continuous monitoring.
* Develop analyses, dashboards, and visualizations highlighting risks, exceptions, and trends.
* Communicate analytic results clearly to auditors and stakeholders.
* Ensure deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with audit schedules.
* Maintain documentation to support audit defensibility and reproducibility.
* Apply data stewardship and governance best practices.
* Follow Enterprise Analytics standards while meeting audit rigor requirements.
Technical Capabilities
Stakeholder Engagement (Novice)
Builds trusted relationships with Internal Audit leaders and teams. Understands audit methodologies and the role of analytics in assurance and risk management. Communicates progress and findings proactively.
Data Acquisition (Novice)
Determines audit-related data requirements, identifies source systems, writes documented and auditable code, transforms data accurately, and applies quality assurance methods.
Data Analysis (Intermediate)
Performs exception testing, trend analysis, and population analysis to support audit objectives. Ensures analytic accuracy and reproducibility.
Data Stewardship and Governance (Intermediate)
Applies governance principles, maintains metadata and data dictionaries, and supports consistent audit metrics and indicators.
Communication (Novice)
Communicates findings clearly through professional written deliverables and effective visualizations tailored to audit audiences.
Planning (Intermediate)
Manages multiple analytics projects aligned to audit timelines, identifies risks proactively, and responds constructively to feedback.
