What Strategic Planning/Execution contributes to Cardinal Health
Strategy is responsible for leadership, direction and expertise in the development of business strategy, strategic management disciplines and business analytics that support the company's mission vision and valuation objectives, in close collaboration with business leaders. Strategic Planning/Execution is responsible for developing and supporting the realization of strategic plans and management agendas.
Responsibilities
Strategic Advisory & Executive Support
Partner with executive leaders to understand strategic priorities and performance gaps.
Translate business needs into actionable improvement plans aligned to enterprise goals.
Prepare briefings, insights, and recommendations that support executive decision-making.
Process Improvement & Performance Analysis
Lead discovery efforts to diagnose root causes of underperforming processes.
Use Lean, Six Sigma, and structured methodologies to develop and deploy solutions.
Evaluate process performance using analytics, KPIs, workflow assessments, and feedback.
Ensure improvements are measurable, sustainable, and tied to outcomes.
Project Leadership
Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives from scoping through implementation.
Manage timelines, stakeholders, risks, and change?management activities.
Coach teams on improvement concepts and implementation best practices.
Collaboration & Partnership
Partner with consultants and analysts to integrate data insights into recommendations.
Facilitate workshops, working sessions, and co?design activities.
Build strong cross-department relationships to support adoption.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Track improvement outcomes, quantify value, and monitor sustainability.
Develop dashboards, reporting, and executive?level presentations.
Qualifications
8-12 years of experience, preferred
Bachelor?s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Proven experience applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies to process improvement initiatives with a Green Belt or Black Belt certification, preferred
Demonstrated success leading complex improvement initiatives, preferred
Strong analytical and problem?solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, preferred
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting insights to stakeholders, preferred
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast?paced, ambiguous environment, preferred
Demonstrated strategic thinking and the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations, preferred

Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models

Independently determines method for completion of new projects
