About the Role The Senior Risk Management Consultant is a seasoned professional who provides high-value consultation, education, and risk mitigation guidance to MICA policyholders. This role combines legal expertise, healthcare insight, and advisory leadership to make a measurable difference in risk outcomes. You will be a primary point of contact for our members, advising on complex professional liability and operational issues while contributing to broader organizational initiatives through thought leadership, collaboration, and innovation.
What You’ll Do
Provide expert risk management consultation to physicians, healthcare professionals, and practice leaders
Analyze clinical and legal risk scenarios and deliver practical, research-based guidance
Develop and present educational content, publications, and training programs
Partner with Claims, Underwriting, and Marketing to address emerging risks and support policyholders
Identify trends and translate insights into proactive risk mitigation strategies
Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert within the Risk Management team

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range: $120,000 - $135,000
Day 1 benefits, including comprehensive insurance with low deductibles
37.5-hour workweek
Hybrid work schedule after initial onboarding

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in insurance defense, healthcare law, healthcare risk management, or a related field
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
Experience advising physicians or healthcare organizations on risk or liability matters
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school or Bachelor of Science in Nursing or other advanced clinical degree
Professional certifications (e.g., ARM, CPHRM, CPPS)
